The Kubert School changed my life in so many ways. It's where I learned how to do what I do, and where I learned the most about dedication and hard work. And I became friends with the Kubert Clan, great talents who took the time to teach poor saps like me.
Joe gave me the best advice ever for comics. "You should be able to tell any story without color or word balloons- that's storytelling." He also remained a supporter of my career long after my time in the school, sending me handwritten correspondence to let me know he had his eye on me.
Yesterday, at a quasi-family reunion, all these cousins kept complimenting on my comics career and asked me how I did it, how I've managed to keep it going. And after spending the late afternoon and evening praising Joe, Adam and Andy and everything they gave me, I came home to find that Joe had passed on.
I hope all the kids and manga fans and video game artists on this site do some due diligence and learn about this man. He was a legend in every sense of the word. His body of work and the knowledge he passed on and shared with us ensure that he'll keep influencing generations to come.
Our condolences to the Kubert family.

Rest in peace Joe, your legacy carries on every day in those you taught.
